Ideas for a Rainy Day

“Like the sky opens after a rainy day we must open to ourselves. Learn to love yourself for who you are and open so the world can see you shine.” – James Poland

Tomorrow is the start of winter but it really feels like it has come a day early!  So much rain and the temperature won't reach double figures here today.  So I am snuggled up with laptop working.  The benefits from working from home.

But it did get me thinking about how to spend time on these cold rainy days when going outside is not welcoming at all!  So I came up with a list of some wonderful things you can do on one of these winter days.

  • A long bubble bath with a good book.. or some good music
  • Start that new book catching dust on your bookshelf
  • What about that movie you have been putting off watching till you had some time
  • Make a delicious dinner/meal for you and your family
  • Spend some time baking in the kitchen - who doesn't love fresh cookies!
  • Curl up in a favourite space and journal
  • Do that boring job of organising and cleaning up emails
  • Sort out clothes and bag up unwanted (good condition) items for local charity
  • Write down 6 positive affirmations on sticky notes and put them around your mirror to remind yourself daily
  • Make it 'day spa at home' day.  Get out all those lovely soaps and bath salts you have been putting away for a 'rainy' day.  The rainy day is here.. indulge yourself!! Don't forget a lovely face mask.

I am sure you all can think of other things.  But you get the idea, rainy days are perfect for catching up on what we have been putting off.  Add some selfcare, some family time, and you won't even be missing the sun!

Enjoy your next Rainy Day!
