The Midday Blues

If you are anything like me around lunchtime your energy starts to drop.  Depending when I start my day, my midday blues can be anytime from noon to two o'clock.  I have been looking for quick tools to help give me a bit of boost to get through to dinner time.

  • Get away from my screens - computer. laptop, phone - and take a 5 to 10min walk around my house, my garden, and breathe deeply.
  • A fresh cuppa, in my case tea, I cannot stand the taste of coffee
  • Something delicious and healthy to eat - usually salad wrap, or a smoothie if I haven't had one yet.  Full of goodness and foods I love to eat.
  • Grab my journal for five minutes, get the thoughts travelling inwards and express outwardly onto paper.
  • Have my rollerball close by, I have one always at hand with an energy blend to give me a quick lift. - recipe below!

For those that work in an office, you can adapt these to work in your lunch break.  A roller and notebook/journal in your bag, a healthy lunch away from your desk can do your afternoon wonders!

I get all my essential oil ingredients, and rollerball bottles from Eco Modern Essentials.. check them out here!!

I hope these ideas help you get through those midday blues and ready your energy to take on the rest of your day!!

And if you are looking for guided 5 minute journal pages, I have my Take Five printables available on Etsy.. check them out HERE!

Well it is reading time here... time to grab my book

The Other Side of Covid

I tested positive for Covid over a week ago now, and while the majority of symptoms have gone and I am now negative, the exhaustion, and lethargy continue on.  I am hoping day by day that my energy levels continue to rise.

I am slowly getting back into the routine of things, my morning ritual, though replaced yoga with some meditation, tomorrow I think some morning stretching will be back on the cards.  Journaling and reading - a new book, and my own new journal pages feel like a fresh start!  My sense of smell has returned so back to using my favourite oils.

Today I am diffusing Eco Modern Essentials Energy Cleanse, which is a beautiful blend, perfect for not only realigning yourself but also the vibe of your home.  I am loving diffusing this throughout my home today.  Just some of the benefits are:

  • Help us to reconnect to ourselves and others.
  • Antiseptic and diuretic properties.
  • May help with anxiety and stress.
  • May be soothing for a sore, dry and irritated throat duo to antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

I have lots of more ideas for printables to get into my store.. and feel some creative energy arriving about now, so...

Journaling using Tarot

“Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.”  William Wordsworth

Even though I have always had some kind of journal or notebook since I was a teenager to write down thoughts, feelings, etc, it has never been consistent and never really found a way to make it work for me or a regular basis.  I do have bursts of words that need to be let loose on paper on occasion, but I really wanted to find a method that helped me journal most days, and I found it.  I now journal using a tarot or oracle deck of cards.

Now instead of just picking a card of the day, whether it be Tarot or Oracle, and placing it on my bedside table, I use it to write, to express, to journal.  And now that is part of my morning ritual, I also love it because it can be as a quick journal exercise or I can really take your time with it.  This is what I do.

  • Sit in my favourite relaxing space.
  • Shuffle the deck, let the cards move easily in my hands.
  • When ready pick one card - this can be done in any way that works for you.  For me, I just cut the deck and turn over and that is my card.
  • Then I look up the meaning, jot down a few of the keywords that resonate with me at that moment.
  • After that I take those words and start journaling what they mean to me and how they reflect my current mood/situation/circumstances.

My current favourite deck I am using is Dreams of Gaia Tarot Set

And this week I have created journal pages just for this purpose, check it out below and click the picture to be taken to my etsy store!

I also have a freebie available.. click here to grab it!

Journaling by Tarot is a wonderful way to explore both, I hope you give it an opportunity and don't forget to look at  My Morning  journal pages to guide you through this process.
